David Lopez aka Didactic is an audio production & technology professional with over 15 years of diverse experience as an Audio Engineer, Consultant, Educator, Producer, DJ and Ableton Certified Trainer.

Early in his career he gained valuable experience as a musician, DJ, drum technician, roadie, stagehand and GA. After receiving his education in audio technology from SAE Miami in the early 2000’s he became a freelance engineer and staff engineer at Miami’s Audiovision Studios. Years later he returned to SAE to teach recording arts & sciences as the Head Supervisor and then Lead Instructor of their Atlanta campus for over seven years.
Based in Atlanta he runs his own audio production business David Lopez Audio providing a wide range of services including studio and live engineering, production, consulting and training.
In addition to composing and producing for others such as dub reggae artist/writer Lion Tafari and singer/songwriter Manny Cortes, he also does so under the moniker Didactic for his own artist material.
David works regularly as a Music Production and DJ Instructor, Demonstrator and DJ for Scratch DJ Academy and Scratch Events in Atlanta, GA. He also works as an Instructor and Seminar Specialist for MixMasters Academia DJ in Miami, FL and Cali, Colombia, South America.
Offering customized Ableton Live classes to groups and individuals from beginner thru advanced, his classes cover a wide range of applications from engineering and production to performance and DJing. David also teaches classes in audio theory, microphone techniques, signal processing, synthesis and sampling, and introductory through advanced signal flow and console operation.
